The Cricket ICC ODI World Cup’s fixtures have been released. The countries competing have been announced.
10 teams across the globe will compete and only one country can walk out victorious. Here I will assess each countries teams in depth.
Bangladesh
ICC ODI Ranking: 7th
Recent form (last 6 matches): 3 wins, 2 losses and 1 no contest.
Over the past ten years, Bangladesh has advanced significantly in international cricket and has developed into a competitive squad in limited-overs forms, such as the Cricket World Cup. Bangladesh has demonstrated consistent growth and the capacity to compete with higher-ranked teams, even though they haven't yet won the competition.
Many of Bangladesh's cricket team's talented players have established themselves on the world scene. Players like Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shakib Al Hasan have consistently produced well and have been essential to Bangladesh's recent success. They have proven that they can contribute with both the bat and the ball, scoring runs.
Bangladesh's bowling attack has also improved, with spinner Mehidy Hasan and pacer Mustafizur Rahman making significant contributions. They have been effective in taking wickets and containing opposition batesmen.
Bangladesh has managed to pull off several remarkable victories against higher-ranked teams in former Cricket World Cups and has produced upsets in the competition. They have demonstrated tenacity and the capacity to compete with elite teams. They have struggled to maintain a high level of play throughout the competition since consistency has been a problem for them.
Bangladesh will need to keep developing young talent, raise the bar on their fielding, and work to retain consistency in their performances if they want to further improve their chances of competing in future Cricket World Cups. Their success will also depend on creating a strong team culture and establishing a winning mentality. Bangladesh begin the World Cup with a game against Afghanistan. They have played them recently, losing 2-1 series. Their final game will be against Australia but can have more games depending on if they acquire top 4. Before the World Cup begins, Bangladesh will compete in the Asia Cup which they have yet to win and then host a 3 match ODI series against New Zealand.
