The Cricket ICC ODI World Cup’s fixtures have been released. The countries competing have been announced.
10 teams across the globe will compete and only one country can walk out victorious. Here I will assess each countries teams in depth.
India
ICC ODI Ranking: 3rd
Recent form (last 6 matches): 3 wins and 3 losses.
India is one of the top international cricket teams with a successful history in the Cricket World Cup. They have twice won the competition—in 1983 and 2011—and have consistently performed well in recent competitions.
India has a long history in cricket and access to a huge talent pool. The team is renowned for its brilliant and adept batsmen, like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shikhar Dhawan, who are capable of scoring significant runs. Players like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, who play aggressive strokes, support the middle order.
In recent years, India's bowling attack has gotten more potent, with a decent combination of pace and spin options. Fast bowlers such as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have performed admirably in limited-overs cricket, while spinners such as Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal provide variation and control.
India has made strides in fielding, with a greater emphasis on agility and athleticism. The team has made significant development in this area, which helps their overall performance.
India's recent limited-overs performances, including victories in bilateral series and multi-nation competitions, have cemented their image as a powerful team. They have continuously been among the top teams in the ICC One-Day International rankings, demonstrating their consistency and competitiveness.
India is frequently considered one of the favourites in the Cricket World Cup due to their tremendous roster, depth in the batting order, better bowling resources, and overall squad balance. India begins their tournament with a tough game against 1st ranked ODI team Australia with their final game against recently qualified Netherlands. However, if India reach a top 4 spot, games will continue. India future games before the World Cup is a test game against West Indies in addition to 3 ODI games and 5 T20 games. They then head to Ireland to play 3 T20 games against them.
